The lead-acid batteries commonly used in diesel generator set are mainly divided into two types, dry load battery and maintenance free battery.
1) Dry charged battery: its full name is dry charged lead-acid battery. Its main feature is that the negative plate has high power storage capacity. In a completely dry state, it can save the obtained power in two years. When it is used, it only needs to add electrolyte, and it can be used after 20-30 minutes. Its main advantages are voltage stability and low price; The disadvantages are low specific energy (that is, the electric energy stored in each kilogram of storage battery), short service life and frequent routine maintenance.
2) Maintenance free battery: maintenance free battery due to its structural advantages, electrolyte consumption is very small, in the service life of the basic need not add distilled water. It also has the characteristics of shock resistance, high temperature resistance, small volume and small self discharge. The service life is generally twice as long as that of ordinary batteries. There are also two kinds of maintenance free batteries on the market: the first one is to add electrolyte at one time when purchasing, and then it does not need to be maintained in use (adding supplementary solution); The other is that the battery itself is sealed with electrolyte when it leaves the factory.
Diesel generator set lead acid batteries are available in 2.4 V, 4 V, 6 V, 8 V, 12 V and 24 V series, with capacities ranging from 200 MAH to 3000 MAH. General diesel generator sets use 12V or 24V batteries to start.
